Alan O. "Pete" Klann, 79 of Rantoul, passed away at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 306 E. Lincoln Street, Buckley with Rev. Debra Domeier officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley with military honors accorded by the Buckley American Legion Byron A. Hickerson Post 432.

Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Alan was born July 13, 1942, in Paxton the son of Orval F. and Alta Elizabeth Kaufman Klann.  He married Patricia Good May 15, 1978 in Rantoul. She survives.

Along with his wife, Pat, he is survived by a daughter, Kandy (Kirk) Sudheimer of Wake Forest, North Carolina; a son, Mitchel (Tammy) Klann of Paxton; step-son, Jim Juday of St. Joseph; nine grandchildren Peyton Sudheimer, Reid (Jess) Sudheimer, Kade Sudheimer, Kalista Klann, Makayla Klann, Makenna Klann, Dierks Klann, Clark (Carson) Juday and Jake Juday; three great grandsons, Hayes Milstead, Cane Juday, Colbie Juday; two nephews and a niece who considered him their grandfather, Wyatt Good, Cameron Nichol, Kaylee Nichol and a brother, Gary Klann of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

"Pete" graduated from Buckley High School. He served in the United States Army for three years and a portion of that time he was stationed in Europe. Pete was a professional truck driver and worked for Kraft Foods, Champaign for 15 years before owning and operating his own business P&P Trucking.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took great pride in his truck.
