Allen W. Crosby, 73, of Gainesville, Florida; formerly of Paxton, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the UF Health Shands Hospital, Gainesville, Florida.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Upper Room Bible Church, Paxton.

Allen was born June 5, 1944 in Paulding, Ohio a son of Carl and Marilyne Grisler Crosby. He married Christine Connor Ray May 15, 1982 in Phoenix, Arizona. She survives.

Along with his wife, Christine, he is survived by four children, Amanda (Nick) Crosby of The Dalles, Oregon, Joe Crosby of Portland, Oregon, Tiffany Burtis of Gainesville, FL, Matthew Ray of Chico, California; nine grandchildren, Jordan, Dylan, Brody, Isabella, Gabriella, Kirsten, Arielle, Hannah, Abigail; a brother, Gary (Sandy) Crosby of Highland Park and his father and mother-in-law, Ron and Charlotte Hampton of Paxton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carole Crosby Garrard.

Allen attended Baylor University. He was a bookkeeper and night auditor for the Pony Soldier Inn hotels for more than 30 years. While living in Paxton, he was the bookkeeper for The Quarters Inn & Suites, Rantoul. Before moving to Paxton in 2012, he and his wife lived in Portland, Oregon and in 2017, they moved to Gainesville, Florida.

He was a member and elder of the Upper Room Bible Church, Paxton. Allen loved golf, accounting and numbers, golf, crossword puzzles and more golf. His greatest joy was his children, grandchildren, church family and his God.
