Allen Dale Reckowsky, age 82, passed away at the St Elizabeth Memory Care Unit in Delphi, IN on February 27, 2022 due to complications of an extended illness.  Allen, born in Bloomington, IL in 1940, was preceded in death by his father and mother, Orville and Ila Reckowsky and wife, Patti Wild.  His sister, Janet Johnson currently resides in Buckley, IL.  Allen is also survived by his children and their spouses; Deborah and Steve Stombaugh, Mark and Coralea Reckowsky, Diana and Rick Evans, and Michael and Connie Reckowsky.  Allen had 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Allen was a long-time Paxton resident until his health difficulties necessitated care.  Allen was a certified electrician in the area and had his own companies; a partnership named R & R Electric and then Controlled Energy Systems.  Both sons worked for him for a time.  Allen was very proud of his work which included wiring for many businesses and residential homes in Paxton and the surrounding area.  Allen retired and he and Patti moved to Florida until her death where he returned to Paxton in 2014.

From his farming roots, Allen took a correspondence course in architecture before becoming an electrician.  Allen was a private pilot and owned the Paxton Airport for a time.  He loved to fish, boat and water ski, play guitar, and spoil his great-grandchildren.

There will be a Visitation at Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 1:00 to 3:00 pm.  Graveside services will follow at 3:15 p.m. at Glen Cemetery, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org.
