Alyce Jean Hein, 57, of rural Rankin passed away at 6:49 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 108 E. Church St., Gifford with Pastor Scott Guhl officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gifford and also from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Alyce was born December 17, 1966, in Gibson City the daughter of Paul Donald and Barbara Jean Mell Cleary. She married Robert "Bob" Hein May 23, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives.

Along with her husband, Bob, she is survived by her daughter, Hannah Hein of rural Rankin; sister, Peggy (Rodney) Irvin of Sidney; brother-in-law, John Hein of Champaign; nephews, Donald (Desiree) Cleary of Loda, Mark (Jessica) Irvin of Boone, Iowa, Alex (Nicole) Irvin of Ogden; nieces, Rachel (Dustin) Steele of Loda, Angie (Shane) Ritter of Paxton; 13 great nieces and nephews; and great-aunt, Joan Cleary of Rantoul.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Cleary; sister, Teresa Stone; brother-in-law, Kevin Stone; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sara "Sally" and George Hein.

Alyce graduated from Paxton High School in 1985. She went to Midstate College, Peoria for fashion from 1985-1987. Alyce worked at Terra Industries, Dewey for five years and
at the PBL Schools as a teacher's assistant for 10 years.

She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and decorating the house at Christmas time. Alyce loved vacationing in Florida and spending time on the beach but most of all she cherished the time spent making memories with her daughter and best friend, Hannah. She was the best mama a daughter could ever have. No matter what she always put her daughter first; therefore, Hannah will never forget how much her mama loved her and how proud of her she was.
