Amelia Belle "Minnie" Humphrey, 87, of Paxton went home to be with our Lord at 2:18 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton on Pells.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 312 E Center St., Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born in Paxton July 11, 1934 the daughter of John P. and Hilda B. Balke Swan. She married Laurence Humphrey in June of 1953. He preceded her in death in 1969.

Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Truman Swan, her husband and her companion A. J. Behrens, who she was with from 1971 until his death in 2011.

She is survived by two children, Wayne (Christina) Humphrey of S. Daytona Beach, FL, Deborah (Steven) Meuser of Paxton; two step-children, Roger (Carol) Behrens of Rantoul, Julia (Keith) Rasmus of Florida; six grandchildren, Christie Ecker of Paxton, Amber (Mike) Frank of Paxton, Angela (Bob) Janson of Lake Iroquois, Brian (Erin) Meuser of Paxton, Stephanie (Derek) Bloom of Paxton, Kati (Darren) Janssen of Colorado; 14 great grandchildren, Catherine (Matias) Rothsches, Adam Frank, Olivia Frank, Mackenzie Janson, Elizabeth Janson, Mason Ecker, Mallorie Ecker, Makenna Ecker, Calvin Bloom, Owen Bloom,, Miles Bloom, Benjamin Meuser, Phoebe Amelia Belle Meuser, Zoe Meuser; two great-great grandchildren, Ezekiel and Melinda Rothsches.

Amelia worked retail sales since the age of 14. With the exception of six years at the base exchange in California she worked in Paxton. Over the years she worked at the Index Notion Company, Fashion Fair, Laybourn's Apparel Shop and Hudson Drug Store where she was "The Card Lady". She retired from Hudson Drug Store in 2020 due to COVID.

Amelia enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, word searches, drinking coffee and whiskey. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
