Ardiss Louise "Ardy" Bruns, 67 of Paxton, passed away at 6:26 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 S College, Paxton with Rev. Debra Domeier officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, at the church and one hour prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday.

Ardy was born December 8, 1950 in Fairbury the daughter of William and Mary Jane Walters Mammen. She married Roger Bruns September 11, 1976 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gifford. He survives.

Along with her husband, Roger, she is survived by a son, Brian (Erin) Bruns of Paxton; a daughter, Sara (Kenny) White of Champaign; nine grandchildren, Jordan Thilmony, Aubree Bruns, Jaden Thilmony, Mason Bruns, Landon Roling, Caden White, Caleb White, Corbin White, Gryffin Bruns; a brother, Edward (Nancy) Phillips of Sidney and her mother-in-law, Martha Bruns of Gifford.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.

Ardy graduated from Buckley High School in 1969. She was a CNA at Heartland Healthcare, Paxton retiring in 2012.

She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paxton. She took enormous pleasure in the lives of her grandchildren and loved spending time with family.
