Arnold "Andy" Anderson, 85, of Paxton passed away at 7:35 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Paxton.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Glen Cemetery, Paxton with Rev. Barbara Busboom officiating. Military honors will be by the Paxton American Legion Prairie Post 150.

Arnold was born February 28, 1932 in Stanley, North Dakota the son of Mons and Ellen Walker Anderson. He married Phyllis Mayes Sitter on September 29, 1973 in Rantoul at the Chanute Air Force Base. She survives.

Along with his wife he is survived by three daughters, Susan Thomas of Mahomet, Laura (Tim) Cline of Loda, Nancy (Mike) Gibb of Loda; two step daughters, Peggy Forster of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, Patty (Blake) Johnson of Paxton; one stepson, Jay Sitter of Dixon; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

"Andy" served in the United State Air Force for twenty years, retiring in 1971. He then worked for Caradco Manufacturing and retired in 1993. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Rantoul.

"Andy" enjoyed fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with grandchildren. He was very proud of his Norwegian Heritage.
