Stan was born on October 19, 1932, in Paxton, the son of Perry and Ethel Carlson Lawson. He married Teresa Vest on August 15, 1953 in Paxton. She preceded him in death March 19, 1975.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Teresa; and a brother, Dwayne Lawson.

Stan is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Dave) Ashby of Paxton, and four granddaughters: Casey (Romel) Hendershott of Las Vegas, Nevada, and their children, Charlotte and Rebel; Chelsea (Skyler) Weber of Clarksville, Tennessee, and their children Mason, Lauryl, and Wren; Heather Kahl of Columbus City, Iowa, and her children, Annabelle, Braedyn, and Caden; and Elizabeth (Toby) Lamb of Letts, Iowa, and their children, Elivia and Teagen.

Stan graduated from Paxton High School. Years ago he owned two gas stations that were in Paxton and Farmer City and drove an oil truck for Houston Oil. A dedicated member of the community, Stan was involved in various organizations including the Paxton Church of Christ, the Ford-Iroquois Farm Bureau, Rantoul Moose Lodge, the Paxton Fire Department, and served on the board for Prairie States Christian Camp.

A lifelong farmer, Stan took pride in his work and enjoyed checking his crops. He cherished his morning coffee ritual at Hardee's and in his younger years found joy in camping, boating, and snowmobiling. Above all, Stan's greatest love was spending quality time with his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Paxton Church of Christ or the Huntington's Foundation. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family at www.baierfuneralservices.com.
