Barbara J. "Barb" Atkins Chaffee, 70, of Boswell, Indiana formerly of Penfield passed away at 8:23 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2020 in Rantoul at her sister's home.

Private graveside services will be held at Wells Cemetery, Penfield. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Barbara was born April 9, 1950 in Danville the daughter of Lauvern F. and Fredia Morgan Atkins. She married Larry Chaffee December 15, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death April 10, 2020.

She is survived by five sisters, Rita (Stewart) Baylor of Easley, South Carolina, Carol Birch of Rantoul, Linda (Joe) Stonestreet of Elton, Missouri, Donna (Richard) Livingston of Springfield, Betty Wheeler of Attica, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Amanda Bertelsmeyer.

Barb spent her childhood in Penfield and graduated from Armstrong High School in 1968. She was a Registered Nurse at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana and a member of Boswell United Methodist Church, Boswell, Indiana.

Barb was an avid horse lover and enjoyed riding horses and liked to draw.
