Barbara Lynn Sutton, 61 of Buckley and a former Paxton resident, passed away at 5:28 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at her home.

Memorial visitation for Barb will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton.

Barb was born November 7, 1956 in McPherson, Kansas the daughter of Benjamin "Ed" and Marjorie Ann Roark Mize. She married Larry Sutton February 19, 1976 at the First Baptist Church, Paxton. He survives.

Along with her husband, Larry, she is survived by her parents, Ed and Marjorie, of Paxton; a daughter Amy Lynn (Chad) Clatterbuck of Golconda; a son, Larry Edwin (Allison) Sutton of rural Gifford; three sisters, Beverly (Darrell) McPherson of Paxton, Sharon Knoke of Paxton, Deanne (Ken) Toby of Gilbertsville, Kentucky and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Edward Knoke.

Barb graduated from Paxton High School in 1974. She worked at the Paxton Veterinary Clinic for a short time. She took cooking classes and became a certified dietitian and went to work at Gibson Area Hospital and the Illinois Knights Templar Home.


She was extremely artistic and enjoyed gardening, painting and sewing. Barb was an outstanding cook and loved cooking for her family.
