Betty E. Kingren, 95 of Paxton, died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at Goldwater Care, Gibson City.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at First Lutheran Church, 301 South College, Paxton, with Rev. Debra Domeier officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral service Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the church. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.
Betty was born April 12, 1930, in Champaign the daughter of Louis and Lela Elkins Buhrmaster. She married Delmar F. Kingren June 30, 1951, at the Elliott Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death May 2, 1996.
She is survived by a son, Dennis (Jennie) Kingren and a daughter, Diane Buss, both of Paxton; 5 grandchildren, Chad Kingren, Justin Swan, Bobby Kingren, Jeff Swan and Dylan Kingren; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Mark Kingren and a brother, Wilbur Buhrmaster.
Betty graduated from Paxton High School. She was a secretary for Hari Motor Sales and the Paxton Superintendent of Schools for a number of years. Betty was also the office manager for Kingren Construction.
She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church, Paxton where she served on the Altar Guild for many years and was a member of the Smokin' Fingers quilting group. She was also a member of the Ford County Historical Society and the Paxton American Legion Auxiliary.
Betty enjoyed gardening and traveling. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
