Bob G. Evans, 88 of Paxton, passed away at 8:18 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020, at his home.

Private funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Bob was born March 9, 1932 in Mattoon the son of Ernest E. and Kathryn Belle Lamb Evans. He married Harriet Baker August 12, 1951 at the Ludlow Christian Church. She survives.

Along with his wife Harriet of 69 years, he is survived by three sons Mike (Connie) Evans of Paxton, Dan (Kim) Evans of Paxton, Rick (Diana) Evans of Lafayette, Indiana; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a brother Al (Arleen) Cobble of Park Ridge and one sister Sharon Hanson of Champaign.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Bob graduated from Tuscola High School in 1950. He farmed for a number of years before he began his career with Ludlow Coop and retired after 40 years.

Bob was a member of the Paxton First United Methodist Church and the Paxton Masonic Lodge #416.

He enjoyed fishing, working puzzles and was an avid reader. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
