Bruno Glazik, 89 of Paxton, died at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 407 W. Pells Street, Paxton with Rev. Jose Kadukunnel officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton with military honors by the Paxton American Legion Prairie Post 150.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Bruno was born February 9, 1929 in rural Rantoul the son of Anthony and Victoria Mendel Glazik. He married Norma Cler on January 31, 1953 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Paxton. She survives.

Along with his wife, Norma of 65 years, he is survived by three daughters, Pamela (Stoney) Wilson of Santa Rosa, California, Vickie (Jim) Wesslund of Paxton, Linda Scheiwe of Loda; two sons, Gary (Tammy) Glazik of Paxton, Steve (Jackie) Glazik of Paxton; 11 grandchildren, Gabriel (Janey) Vaughn, Jason (Lana) Wesslund, Neil Wesslund, Nathan Wesslund, Ryne (Meghan) Scheiwe, Shannon (James) Seibert, Travis (Myndie) Glazik, Taylor Glazik, Aubrey Glazik, Matt (Jeannie) Glazik, Alex Glazik; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Isabel Blecka of St. Louis, Loretta Stanowski of Nashville, IL and a brother, Eugene Glazik of Batavia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, two brothers and a son-in-law, Mark Scheiwe.

Bruno attended Paxton High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict on the USS Tolovana. He was a life-long farmer and always enjoyed everything about farming including raising livestock. When he wasn't farming, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to livestock sale barns and searching for fresh produce. He also looked forward to his weekly poker games.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Paxton, Paxton American Legion Prairie Post 150 and Paxton VFW Post 4214.
