Carol J. Leahey, 87 of Washington; formerly of Paxton passed away at 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Villas of Hollybrook, Washington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 407 W. Pells Street, Paxton with Father Dong Van Bui officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton with a rosary at 6:30 p.m.

Carol was born December 24, 1930 in Racine, Wisconsin the daughter of Joseph and Marie St. Martin Fifarek. She married John A. Leahey October 4, 1952 in Racine, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death November 25, 1982.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Kenneth) Blaha of Washington, Laurie (Chuck McCabe) Leahey of Mission Viejo, California; three grandchildren, Brian Szpyrka, Nick McCabe, Josh Moore and two great grandchildren, Alana McCabe and Wyatt Moore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; two brothers, George and Bill Fifarek and a daughter, Catherine.

Carol was employed at Chanute Air Force Base, Switchcraft, Heartland Healthcare and Illinois Knights Templar Home of Paxton. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Paxton.

Two of her favorite places were Disneyworld and Disneyland. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing letters and traveling.
