Charles William Swanson, age 90, of Paxton, Illinois passed away at 7:20 pm on November 6, 2024 at Accolade on Pells Nursing Home in Paxton, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 4-6 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Baier Family Funeral Services in Paxton, IL. Funeral services immediately following and will be officiated by Rev. Pat Allin.

Bill, Charlie, C.W., Billy, Uncle Bill or Pa (as he was affectionately known by so many different names) was born on September 25,1934 to C.A. Swanson and Lillian (Noland) Swanson. He married Jean Hawthorne on June 11, 1966 at Weedman Methodist Church, Farmer City, Illinois.

Along with his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Kelly (Michelle) Swanson and Kirk (Michelle) Swanson, both of Paxton, 5 grandchildren, Masie (Dylan) Kingren of Loda, Kyler (Courtney) Swanson of Loda, Kendall, Andrew and Alex Swanson, all of Paxton. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren,  Mark and Darla Kingren and Amelia, Charlotte, and Bennett Swanson.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and 2 sisters, Evelyn (Andy) Miller of Paxton, IL and Gladys (Bill) Brenner of Onarga, IL.

He enjoyed his work at Big Wheels and Birkey's Farm Store. He loved listening to country music and spending time with his family.  He always looked forward to the holiday season, especially his family's tree day tradition, for over 30 years, at Tate's Tree Farm.

The Swanson family would like to thank the staff of Accolade on Pells, Transitions Care, and Gibson Area Hospital for the amazing care and support during these past days.
