Obituary

Cordie "Sue" Combs, 85 of Paxton, passed away at 9:18 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2025, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Pastor Dave Hohulin officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Sue was born July 5, 1940, in Estico, Arkansas the daughter of John and Verneal Dowell Ivy.  She married Donald Combs November 18, 1958, in Newport, Arkansas.  He preceded her in death February 14, 2022.

She is survived by a son, Rick Combs of Paxton, daughter, Ramonna (Ted) Williams of Paxton; five grandchildren, Mackenzie Williams, Brandon (Donna) Combs, Breanna (Neal) Combs, Brittany (Michael) Rutledge, Christian (BetsyAnne)  Williams, six great grandchildren; two sisters Myrla Ivy of Ada, Oklahoma, Kathy Tubbs of Grubbs, Arkansas; three brothers Jackie (Barbara) Ivy of Grubbs, Arkansas, John (Vicky) Ivy of Memphis, Tennessee and Randy (Linda) Ivy of Weiner, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Rhonda Combs Harris, her husband, a sister, Mary Lou Forrest and three brothers, Jerry Ivy, Sherman Ivy and Lee Dean Ivy.

Along with her steadfast dedication to her family, friends, and community, Cordie was a lifelong member of the First Southern Baptist Church. Over her many years of service, she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school, sang in the choir, was food pantry chairperson, mission action chairperson, and served on the baptism committee, just to name a few. She offered her gifts of time, skills, and resources to bless others and glorify God. Most importantly she blessed her family with the gifts of unconditional love and support.
