Dale E. Rueck, 61 of rural Gibson City, died Saturday, January 11, 2025, in Gibson City.

Dale was born March 2, 1963, in Gibson City, the son of Virgil E. and Beverly J. Hillary Rueck.  He married Sheilla Carl July 10, 1993, at St. Peter Free Lutheran Church, Melvin.  She survives.

Along with his wife, Sheilla, he is survived by his children, Christopher Mogged of Urbana and Ashley (Steve) Little of Farmer City; three grandchildren, Tucker, Reese, Taytum; a brother, Dave (Kim) Rueck of Foosland; two brothers-in-law, Robert Carl of Frisco Texas, Steve Carl of Aurora, Missouri; three nieces, Hannah Carl, Shelby Carl, Samantha Rueck and a nephew, Steve (Lana) Sample.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dale graduated from Melvin-Sibley High School in 1981.  He served in the Army National Guard for a number of years.  He was a mechanic for Hearthside Food Solutions, Gibson City.

He loved being a mechanic and tinkering on engines.  He also enjoyed being outdoors and splitting wood.  Dale was an avid Illini basketball fan.  His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids and attending their activities.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the family.
