Daniel Raymond Starkey "Danny Ray", 46 of rural Loda passed away at 4:22 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in rural Clarence.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton with Rev. Debra Domeier officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the funeral home.

Danny was born June 17, 1971 in Urbana the son of Dennis and Darlene Severins Starkey.

He is survived by his parents of Paxton; a sister, Alecia (Terry) Whitcomb of Paxton; a brother, Christopher (Jessie) Starkey of rural Thomasboro; a niece, Mallory Lithgow; three nephews, Kentland Lithgow, Case Starkey, TJ Starkey; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his faithful companion Dixie.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roland and Marguerite Starkey and Eilert and Anna Fruhling.

Danny graduated from Paxton High School in 1989 and while a student, he was a member of the Paxton FFA and Walltown 4-H Club. He was an over-the-road trucker for a number of years and was currently employed at Rockwell Automation, Champaign. He loved working on his farm, mowing and plowing snow with his father.

He enjoyed boating, rodeos and spending time with his sidekick, Dixie. Danny also enjoyed running in and working in truck and tractor pulls. He, alongside Dwain Weber, were the founders of the Loda Good Ole Days Truck & Tractor Pulls.
