Darrell W. Arnold, 84 of Urbana; formerly of Paxton, passed away at 12:22 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Glen Cemetery, Paxton with military honors.

Darrell was born September 1, 1937, in Yates Township, McLean County, Illinois, the son of Charles J. and G. Irine Lawrence Arnold.  He married Anita Marie Klinkow August 18, 1961, in Paxton.  She preceded him in death April 28, 2007.

He is survived by three sons, Richard D. (Julie) Arnold of Corona, California, Charles L. Arnold of Urbana, Mark E. (Amber) Arnold of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters Ronda (Jeffrey) Walters of Yukon, Oklahoma, Linda A. Arnold of Rantoul; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Roger (Marie) Arnold of Roseburg, Oregon, Gary (Paula) Arnold of Colorado Springs, Colorado and 2 sisters Darlene (Albert) Parra of Coquille, Oregon and Judy Arnold of Virginia.

He was preceded in death of his parents, wife and one grandson, Aaron Arnold.

Darrell proudly served in the United States Navy for four years and was stationed on the USS Hancock.  He worked for Murle Roy for 20 years and then Bell Helmets and Rural King.

He enjoyed camping and fishing.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
