Darrell Lee McPherson, 70 of Paxton, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2021, at his home.

He was born January 8, 1951 in Fairbury the son of Virgil Oscar and Charlene Mae Wallenstein McPherson.

Along with his wife, Beverly, he is survived by two daughters Laura Jean (Tom) Proctor and Christina Lee (Jarrod) Adkins both of Paxton; seven grandchildren Rick, Maci, Ben, Ryland, Owen, Judson and Caraline; four sisters Janelle (Donald) Harris, Trula (Steve) Smith, Lexa (Donald) Sparks, Tanya (John) Hood; four brothers Dana (Claudia) McPherson, Tony (Terry) McPherson, Lonnie McPherson and Randy (Kim) McPherson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Robert Horridge and a sister Pam Britt.

Darrell or "Big D" as he was known to his friends served in the United States Army and was a Viet Nam veteran having been awarded numerous badges and medals including the Bronze Star Medal. He was a farmer and truck driver. His employment included 20 years with Brownberry Bread.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and hunting. But nothing meant more to him than spending time with his family and friends.

There will be no services. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family.
