David Albert Meitz, 78 of Lake Iroquois, Loda passed away at 12:46 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

David was born October 6, 1942 in Chicago the son of Adolph Albert and Helen Bertha Hoffman Meitz. He married Carol Francis Diekelman August 29, 1964 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Thornton. She survives.

Along with his wife, Carol, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Michelle Meitz of Elburn; granddaughter Chloe Catherine Meitz; grandson Kyle Joseph Meitz; and a daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Paul Garrison of Bolingbrook.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

David was a teacher at Crete-Monee High School and had retired. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Loda.
