David F. Sikes, 59, of Rantoul passed away at 2:25 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells, Paxton with Pastor Dan DeWitt officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

David was born March 6, 1963 in Folkston, Georgia the son of Huey Howell and Maxine Mabel Ogg Sikes. He married Lisa Brock February 14, 1985 in Lafayette, Louisiana.

He is survived by son, Shawn David (Darryln Jo) Sikes of Deltona, Florida; step-daughter, Brandy Renee (Joel) Pitre of Deltona, Florida; four grandchildren, Isaac Pitre, Alexis Pitre, Lynkin Skylar Sikes, McKynzie Kelley; father, Huey Howell Sikes, Sr. of Onamia, Minnesota; three brothers, Huey Howell (Sylvia) Sikes, Jr., Harry Leroy (Laura) Sikes, Denver Curtis (Jamie) Piatt; five sisters, Martha Esther (Rudy Leal) Sikes, Ruby (Don) Wilson, Mary Louise Rivera, Dolly Mae Piatt, and Shannon Renee (Gene) May.

He was preceded in death by mother, Maxine Mabel Piatt.

David spent his childhood in Paxton. He was a floor installer for 42 years and had worked at Acadian Carpets, Lafayette, Louisiana, Rabern-Nash, Atlanta, Georgia, Home Interiors, Denver, Colorado and Green Street Realty, Champaign.

David was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed attending car races and watching tv. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
