Dennis James Janssen, 82 of Paxton; formerly of Buckley, died Friday, February 16, 2024, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Rev. Debra Domeier officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, at the funeral home.

Dennis was born November 8, 1941, in Buckley the son of John and Elfrieda Abraham Janssen.  He married Wilma Watson, October 5, 1963, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley.  She survives.

Along with his wife, Wilma, he is survived by a son, James Janssen of Paxton; two daughters, Wendi (Michael) Zalaker of Gibson City, Tamra (Eric) Whitecotton of Paxton; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Delmer Janssen, Elroy Janssen, Jack Janssen and a sister, Jean Evans.

Dennis was a self-employed contractor from 16 years old until his retirement.  He enjoyed deer hunting and shooting pool.
