Diane G. Weisenbarn, 91 of Paxton, died at 3:19 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Gibson Area Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Rev.  Pat Allin officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be Saturday two hours before the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Diane was born September 3, 1934, in Paxton the daughter of John and Mildred Jones Shilts.  She married William L. Weisenbarn December 30, 1955, in Shawneetown.  He preceded her in death July 15, 1995.

She is survived by a daughter, Jill (Jeff) Schrodt of Loda; two grandsons, Drew (Kailey) Schrodt, Drake (Lexi) Schrodt; three great grandchildren, Everleigh, Brynn and Jayce Schrodt and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Lynn, a brother, Jack Shilts, and a niece, Kristine Shilts.

Diane graduated from Paxton High School.  She retired from the PBL School District as a teacher's aide.

She was a member of the Paxton United Methodist Church, a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and former member of the Paxton Hospital Auxiliary and Lakeview Country Club.

Diane loved being with family; especially attending her grandson's sporting events and spending time with her great grandchildren.  She enjoyed traveling to Florida, shopping, being outside with her flowers and landscaping and sitting on her deck with her neighbors.  She was also an animal lover, loved her grand dogs and was an avid Chicago Cubs, Illini and Dutchmaster fan.
