Donald Louis Hofbauer, 83, of Paxton passed away 8:16 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at Christian Bible Church, 1202 E 200 N Rd, Cissna Park with Pastor Silas Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Visitation will be 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church prior to the service.

Donald was born January 27, 1934 in Danville the son of Louis Edward and Bernice Witterich Hofbauer. He married Beverly Wolfe January 27, 1962 at the Paxton Church of Christ. She survives.

Along with his wife, Beverly, he is survived by one daughter; Donna Sue Belshaw of Washington; one brother, Larry (Peg) Hofbauer of Cissna Park; one sister, Susan (Norman) Held of Anderson, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mike Hofbauer; one sister, Joan Hofbauer; and son-in-law, Bill Belshaw.

Don spent his childhood in the East Lynn and Cissna Park areas. He graduated from East Lynn High School in 1952. Don worked for Kraft Foods, Champaign for 26 years before retiring. He attended Christian Bible Church, Cissna Park.

Don loved fishing, doing jigsaw puzzles and had made birdhouses and benches for everyone in the family.
