Donna J. Balk, 76 of Buckley, died at 7:13 p.m. Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2024, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 306 E. Lincoln Street, Buckley with Pastor Sam Winkleman officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, at the funeral home and on Monday one hour before the funeral service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donna was born October 5, 1948, in Paxton the daughter of Robert Fredrick and Charlotte Jean Fultz Ronna.  She married James Balk October 2, 1976, at St. John's Lutheran Church Buckley.  He survives.

Along with her husband, Jim, she is survived by two daughters, Jenny Jamison of Mahomet, Kerry Wise of Buckley, one son, Doug (Amanda) Balk of Bourbonnais; 11 grandchildren, Reno (Abby), Diamond (Brandon), Liberty (Sam), Chandler (Brittany), Karson, Karlie, Kinley, Brylee, Sophie, Lilli and Lauryn and 3 great grandchildren Elowyn, Bentley and Charlotte; three brothers, Bob (Billie) Ronna of Florida, Stan (Kirsten) Ronna of Utah, Bill (Pat) Ronna of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Warren Ronna.

Donna graduated from Rantoul Twp. High School in 1966.  She attended several classes at Joliet Jr. College and worked at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet as a secretary for several years.  She then went to work for King Insurance, Buckley and later worked for Pacey & Pacey Attorneys until her retirement.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley and sang in the church choir.  She was also a member of the Buckley American Legion Auxiliary and the Buckley Ladies Coffee Club.  Donna was a former member of the Levi's & Lace Square Dance Club. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Illinois Football and Basketball.  She enjoyed riding and driving her Thunderbird, sharing Christmas ornaments, antiquing and bowling in Cissna Park with her Buckley friends.  Donna was a devoted sister and caregiver to her brother, Warren "Snap" throughout his illness.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
