Donnie Taylor Wright, 74 of Paxton passed away at 12:25 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2020 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville.

Private funeral services will be held. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donnie was born October 15, 1946 in Casey County, Kentucky the son of John Floyd and Mary Louise Farmer Wright. He married Donna Peterson, October 11, 1968 at the Church of Christ in Paxton. She survives.

Along with his wife, Donna, he is survived by daughter, Marsha (Doug) Fleming of Urbana; son, Barry (Cheryl) Wright of Loda; three grandchildren, Cale and Emma Fleming, Ally Wright; eight sisters, Velma Phillips of Gilman, Mary (Owen) Theesfeld of Buckley, Linda Wright of Paxton, Julie (Donnie) Knuth of Loda, Maggie (Neil) Lohrman of Paxton, Jeannine Wright of Paxton, Evelyn (Ron) Shunk of Loda, Dorothy Wright of Paxton; two brothers, Jimmie Wright of Paxton, Joe (Linda) Wright of Rankin; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Darrel Wright and Jessie Wright.

Donnie spent his childhood in Kentucky. He served in the United States Army 1966-1967 during the Vietnam War as a crew chief on a helicopter gunship UH-1B "Huey". He was a member of Rantoul/Paxton VFW Post #6750 and Paxton American Legion Prairie Post 150. Donnie worked at Kraft Foods, Champaign for 30 years retiring in 2001. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Paxton where he was a Deacon for several years.

Donnie enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
