Doris Irene Wagner, 77 of Paxton, died at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton on Pells.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda with Pastor Adam Wood officiating.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Doris was born October 27, 1943 in Paxton the daughter of Willie W. and Sylvia Henson Burgess.  She married Wilfred R. "Willie" Wagner December 27, 1963 in Paxton.  He preceded her in death March 6, 2015.

She is survived by two sisters, Cleo (Don) Knell-Murray of Rantoul, Donna Hustedt of Paxton; one brother Bill (Julie) Burgess of Paxton and four nephews Gabriel Burgess, Joseph (Moriah) Burgess, Joshua (Tonya) Burgess and J. L. Knell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Charles Burgess.

Doris graduated from Paxton High School in 1961.  At one time she was secretary/treasurer of Loda Cemetery Association and manager of Pine Ridge Cemetery.  She had also been a crossing guard and custodian at Buckley-Loda Grade School.

She enjoyed computer graphics, playing country music, genealogy and collecting turtles and music boxes.
