Duane Eugene Lane, 83, of Buckley formerly of Paxton passed away at 7:27 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 in his home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 206 E Main St, Buckley with Rev. J. Kevin Wyckoff officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Cissna Park American Legion Post 527. Burial will be at a later date at St. John's Cemetery, Buckley.

Visitation will be Saturday 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Baier Family Funeral Services, Buckley is handling arrangements.

Duane was born November 7, 1937 the son of Jack and Viola Butkowski Lane. He married Marcia Koschnick September 19, 1981 at First Lutheran Church, Paxton. She survives.

Along with his wife Marcia, he is survived by two sons, Robin Lane of Rantoul, JJ Hull of Buckley; daughter Tammie Lawson of Paxton; three grandchildren, Courtney St. Clair of Rantoul, Sgt. Kaleb Hull of Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Leslie Lawson of Rantoul; two great grandchildren; two sisters Mary Foust of Minnesota, Barbara (Dean) Powers of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother Frank (Qibty) Lane of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeff Lane and two brothers, David Lane and Danny Lane.

Duane spent his childhood in and around Fort Dodge, Iowa. He proudly served in the United States Air Force 1955-1976 where he did two tours in Vietnam and one in Thailand. Duane was First Sergeant of the 40 ^th ARRS Squadron known as the "Jolly Green Giants". He was stationed many different places, most notably the Aleutian Islands, Alaska and retired at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul.

Duane was a truck driver for many years for Superior Carriers, Kankakee and spent several years working for the Ford County Sheriff's Office. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley. Duane enjoyed working and spending time with his family.
