Earl John Rust, 90 of rural Buckley, died at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley with Rev. J. Kevin Wyckoff officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 306 E. Lincoln Street, Buckley.

Earl was born December 23, 1934, in rural Buckley the son of Henry John and Frieda A. Kottke Rust.  He married Eloise Hansens April 14, 1957, in Champaign.  She preceded him in death February 7, 2013.

He is survived by a son, Myron (Belinda) Rust of Buckley, a daughter, Kendra (Bruce) Andree of Champaign, three grandchildren Jason (Kaci) Rust, Jami (Cory) Roberts, Chase (Elizabeth) Andree, six great grandchildren Kylie, Traxton, Brocktyn, Kasen, Kashton, Miles and a brother Wayne Rust of Rankin and a sister Dorothy Karr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Dale, three sisters Irma Laesch, Marlene Deerwester, Verna Madden and two brothers, Merle Rust and Harold Rust.

Earl graduated from Buckley High School.  He was a life-long farmer and also did custom grain hauling for a number of years.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley and the I&I Antique Tractor & Gas Engine Club. He enjoyed going to auctions, antiquing and refurbishing farm machinery and equipment.
