Our family is deeply saddened to announce the death of our beloved father, Eddie Mize. He passed away peacefully in his sleep early Thursday morning, July 9th, 2020.

Due to the continuing risk and precautions we are all experiencing with COVID-19, we have decided to forgo a funeral. As a family, we will plan a life celebration when it is safe to do so. Please send any memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association in his honor.

Eddie was one of twelve children, to Lecel and Lillian(Taylor)Mize. Born September 1, 1934 in Harriet Arkansas.
He was husband to Marjorie Roark, married 2/21/1956 in McPherson, Kansas.
Father to Barbara (Larry) Sutton, Beverly (Darrell) McPherson, Sharon (Edward) Knoke, Deanne (Ken)Toby. Grandfather to Am(Chad) Clatterbuck, Rachiel (Chris) Ducote, Laura (Thomas) Proctor, Kate (Wesley) Morefield, Christina (Jarrod) Adkins, Larry (Allison) Sutton, Sam Toby, Leigh Toby; Great grandfather to Maci, Ryland, Owen, Caraline, Van, Sophie, McCall, Rick, Ben and Judson.

Eddie worked in construction, building grain elevators for 10 years, traveling around the United States. Marriage and family took him to Illinois, where he was supervisor at the Paxton Cob Plant for over 30 years. After moving to Kentucky in 1986, he was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of raising cattle. Retirement and family brought him back to Paxton in 2016.

Eddie was a proud volunteer of the Paxton Fire Department for many years. Other than spending time with his beloved wife Marjorie, four daughters and family, his favorite things to do were spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was happiest being outside, walking around the farm with a beloved pet or with a family member by his side. For many years, his passion for horses gave him a way to quickly survey the farm and more importantly, provide entertainment to all those who came for a visit. He also enjoyed going to auctions, estate sales, and antique shops; never leaving empty handed.

All that knew him, knew there was nothing he wouldn't do for family or friends and was loved by many. His endless stories and jokes were always captivating and will never be forgotten.  He will be greatly missed, and cherished in our hearts forever
