Edward M. Hilgendorf, 65, a lifelong Buckley resident, died at 7:37 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 306 E.
Lincoln Street, Buckley with Rev. Debra Domeier officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Ed was born April 13, 1952, in Urbana the son of Marlin and Pauline Hyde Hilgendorf.
He is survived by one sister, Ellen Hilgendorf of Chicago; two uncles, Vernon Luhrsen of Buckley; Floyd (Frieda) Hyde of Tuscola; one aunt, Viola Sheetz of St. Louis and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ed graduated from Buckley-Loda High School in 1970. He worked for the Humko Corporation, Champaign for 39 years. He was a social member of the Buckley American Legion. He was an avid National Hot Rod Association enthusiast, a NASCAR and Chicago Cubs fan and a collector of 33/45/78 RPM records.
