Elinor “Ellie” Lynn White, 85 of Paxton, died at 6:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2026, at First United Methodist Church of Paxton, 210 W. Center Street, Paxton with Rev. Pat Allin officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be two hours before the service on Sunday from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. also at the church. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with services.

Ellie was born November 10, 1940, in Urbana the daughter of Paul and Ruby Lindgren Johnson. She married Donald C. White January 15, 1966, in Paxton. He preceded her in death September 7, 1997.

She is survived by a son, Tim (Jeanette) White of Zionsville, IN; a daughter, Jennifer (Spencer) Ware of Elizabethtown, KY; four grandchildren, Nolan, Alex, Ellec, and Ruby. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Rogers of Paxton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Jerry and Denny Johnson.

Ellie graduated from Paxton High School in 1958 and attended North Park University, Chicago. She was a homemaker and also worked at First National Bank of Paxton until her retirement.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paxton, United Methodist Women and the Bell Choir and a former Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of her neighborhood Homemaker’s Social Club.

Ellie enjoyed playing dominoes, folk art painting, playing the piano and traveling with friends.
