Ellen Louise Harris, 95, of Paxton passed away at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton on Pells.

Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Saturday April 20, 2024 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells St., Paxton. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Rantoul with Pastor Kevin Little officiating.

Ellen was born August 24, 1928 in Homer the daughter of George and Virgie Bradley Rutledge. She married Earl Robert "Bob" Harris on August 2, 1946 at University Place Christian Church, Champaign. He preceded her in death November 20, 2011.

She is survived by a daughter, Jill (Larry) Johnson of Keystone Heights, Florida; three sons, Gary (Yong Soon) Harris of Seoul, Korea, Jon (Linda) Harris of Rantoul, Bryce Harris of Paxton; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; three sons, Bob, Jerry and James Harris; daughter, Linda Uebele; brother, Clifford; and three sisters, Betty, Francis and Shirley.

Ellen was a waitress at Hicks Café in Roberts and a cook for many years at the Roberts-Thawville Schools. She was also a farmwife and helped out on the family farm. Ellen was a member of the Roberts United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir and Methodist Women's Group. She moved to Paxton in 2013.

Ellen enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, camping and fishing. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
