Ethel Wylie Arnold, 80 of Paxton, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.

No services will be held. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Ethel was born September 20, 1937 in Edinburgh, Scotland the daughter of Robert and Ethel Wylie Murray. She married Paul Dorche in 1964. He preceded her in death in 1980. She married Elmer E. Arnold June 23, 1983 at the Loda Sportsman Club, Paxton. He preceded her in death April 30, 2012.

She is survived by a son, Alex Dorche of Paxton; a step-daughter, Becky Arnold of Paxton; step-son, Richard (Joellen) Arnold of Shipman; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, David Murray and two sisters, Julie Sach and Flo Tennant all of South Hampton, England.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Ethel grew up in England and moved to the United States in 1965 when she and her husband were stationed at Chanute Air Force Base. They moved to Paxton in 1975. She graduated from Parkland College in 1983 as an LPN and worked at Ford County Nursing Home for the next 35 years.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking. Ethel was a very giving lady and took great pride in caring for people. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
