Floyd R. Hyde, 82, of Tuscola; a former Paxton resident, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Rev. John Hauck officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 15, at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m. by Paxton Masonic Lodge #416.
Floyd was born September 30, 1934 in Paxton the son of Glen and Laura Milehan Hyde. He married Frieda Whitcomb on May 6, 1955 at the First United Methodist Church Parsonage, Paxton. She survives.
Along with his wife, Frieda, he is survived by two sons, John (Paula Jo) Hyde of Tuscola, James (Angie) Hyde of Deland, Florida; a daughter, Lynda (Mike) Turner of Lebec, California; eight grandchildren, Dwayne Freeze, James Campbell, Paul Campbell, Dustin Campbell, Joshua Hyde, Claire Hyde, Laura Hyde, Matt Watts; ten great grandchildren, Taylor, Shelby, Samantha, Dylan, Johnathan, Katelyn, Spencer, Lucy, Alex, Bailey; one niece, Ellen Hilgendorf; two nephews, Steve and Rusty Baccus and a brother-in-law, Jon (Cathy) Whitcomb of Paxton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Floyd attended Paxton High School. He worked for CIPS and retired after 40 years of employment. During his CIPS employment, he and his family lived in Paxton, Paris, Tuscola and Mattoon.
He was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church of Paxton. He was also a member of the Paxton Masonic Lodge #416. Floyd enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, trains and working in his yard.
