Gerald Eugene "Jerry" Dickey, 87 of Champaign died at 10:38 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at

OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 19, from 10-11 a.m. at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton.

A private burial will be held at Glen Cemetery, Paxton with military honors by the Paxton American Legion Prairie Post 150.

Jerry was born January 8, 1933 in Chicago the son of Guy Elmore and Ruby Hope McCraw Dickey. He married Nancy Anne Weaver September 3, 1955 at Paxton First United Methodist Church. She survives.

Along with his wife, Nancy, he is survived by one daughter, Linda Sue (Clifford) Hartt of Champaign; three grandchildren Courtney Wendell, Allison Robichaud and Teague Dickey; five great grandchildren; a brother Guy E. Dickey of Fort Worth, Texas; two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ned Dickey.

Jerry graduated from Paxton High School in 1951. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Korean War Veteran. Jerry retired from the University of Illinois in 1993 as an instrument maker.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
