Gregory L. Weller, 76 of Bayles Lake, Loda, died at 7:16 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024, at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Loda with Father Nestor Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with a rosary beginning at 3:15 p.m.
Greg was born December 15, 1947, in Paxton the son of Ivor and Marjorie Gregerson Weller. He married Pamela A. Marshall May 22, 1971, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Paxton. She survives.
Along with his wife, Pam, he is survived by three sons, Michael (Cierra) Weller of Glen Ellyn, Christopher (Dana) Weller of Batavia, Alan (Jessica) Weller of Montgomery; one grandson, Declan Weller and a sister Linda (Les) Luhrsen of Buckley.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and a brother, James Weller.
After retiring from AT&T, he was employed by various consulting firms working on engineering reroutes for AT&T cables. His last employment was with JMC Engineers and Associates where he worked with many longtime friends consulting on a variety of AT&T related projects.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Loda. Greg was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Illini fan. He enjoyed fishing, reading, golfing and wintering in Bonita Springs, Florida. He loved spending time with his family. He was active with his sons in scouting as well as with their sports and activities. He loved watching sports, especially his grandson play baseball.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Loda or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family at www.baierfuneralservices.com.
