Jack C. Albertson, 82 formerly of Paxton and Gibson City, died at 8:21 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Gilman Healthcare.
Burial will be in the Danville National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, with military honors by the Danville American Legion Post 210. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.
Jack was born August 20, 1940, in Barrier, Kentucky, the son of Roy E. and Ora Lewis Albertson. He married Maria E. Felix in 2006, in El Centro, California. She preceded him in death May 5, 2008.
He is survived by nine children, Jack Albertson of Imperial, California, Mary Albertson of Palm Springs, CA, Jasmin Albertson, Gabriella Moreno, Edgar Moreno, Christina Tapia, Roxanne Tapia, Steve Goff, Karra Petro, all of El Centro, California; eight grandchildren; two sisters, including Judy (Mack) Brown of Paxton; brother, Roy (Vickie) Albertson of Benton, Kentucky and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, step father, Bernard Windle, wife, one sister and two brothers.
Jack attended Honeywell Grade School, Hoopeston and graduated from Hoopeston High School. He graduated from the California College of Mortuary Science, Los Angeles, CA and received his funeral director and embalmer license May 1967.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force 1957-1963 and the California National Guard for three years. Jack worked for Preston-Rasmussen Mortuary, Riverside, California and Hems Mortuary, El Centro, California before retiring in 1997. He moved to Paxton in 2006.
Jack was a member of the Elks BPOE, Riverside, California and the Gibson City VFW.
