Jacqueline Kay “Jackie” Lewis Roy, 77, of Paxton passed away at 10:12 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026 at her home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Federated Church of Paxton, 221 W. Center St., Paxton with Rev. Colleen Lawrence officiating. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jackie was born January 7, 1949 in Rensselaer, Indiana the daughter of Jack Edward and Virginia Ellen Weltzin Lewis.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (Cathy) Roy of Loda, Damon (Sara) Roy of Paxton; three grandchildren, Colton Lee Roy, Riley Grace Roy, Brett (Angel) Tweady; two brothers, Nick (Marilyn) Lewis of Monon, Indiana, Tony (Diane) Lewis of Riverview, Florida; sister, Julie Beckefeld of Monon, Indiana and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Becky Mueller and Cindy McElroy.

Jackie graduated from Paxton High School in 1967. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois. Jackie worked at the University of Illinois and retired from the Illinois State 4-H office in 2016. She was a member of the Federated Church of Paxton and the Ford County Historical Society.

Jackie was a Master Naturalist and Master Gardener and enjoyed gardening, bike riding, being outside in the sunshine and also attending REO Speedwagon concerts with family. Jackie was an avid bird watcher, especially Bluebirds and was instrumental in setting up the Bluebird Trail at Middle Fork River Forest Preserve. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
