James W. Brown, 82 of Rantoul, passed away at 11:33 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton on Pells.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

James was born May 15, 1941, in Humboldt, Tennessee, the son of Hosie M. and Lula Mae Johnson Brown.  He married Elaine M. Perry April 8 2004, in Champaign.  She survives.

Along with his wife, Elaine, he is survived by his children and two brothers.

James moved from Champaign to Rantoul in 2011.  He worked for General Motors in Detroit for many years and after retirement, he worked security for Eastland Suites, Urbana.

He enjoyed music, playing the guitar and spending time with his friends.
