James Anthony "Jim" Fratia, 74 of Bayles Lake, Loda, died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Glen Cemetery, Paxton with Rev. John Hauck officiating. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jim was born September 7, 1943 in Paxton the son of Anthony Charles and Anne Caroline Holmes Fratia. They preceded him in death. He is survived by a sister, Janet Ann Fratia of Bayles Lake, Loda.

He graduated from Paxton Community High School in 1961. Jim was self employed in the autobody business. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paxton.

Jim was a very inventive person. Reading technical manuals gave him pleasure as well as ideas for constructing his projects ranging from steam driven turbines to model planes and paddlewheel boats.

At one time he enjoyed building and finishing coupe roadsters.
