James Radean "Jim" Price, Sr., 84 of Paxton, passed away at 3:01 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Gibson Area Hospital Annex, Gibson City.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Maranatha Baptist Church, 3105 County Road 1700 East, Rantoul, with Pastor Mark Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton with military honors.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling services.
Jim was born December 12, 1938, in Vernon, Florida the son of Charlie Bartow and Lillie Mae Powers Price. He married Sarah C. Bogden March 20, 1959, in Fort Benton, Montana. She survives.
Along with his wife, Sarah, he is survived by two daughters, Christina and Sarah Price of Rantoul; three sons, James (Darlene) Price, Jr. of Tilton, John Paul (Tori) Price of Villa Grove, James (Tracy) Price, III of Escanaba, MI; five grandchildren McKenna, Gregory Duncan, Trevor, Ian, Kyleigh; one brother, Billy Gene (Ruby) Price of Columbus, GA and two sisters, Esthalene Paulk of Georgia and Elizabeth Ruth (Ken) Cobb of Lee's Summit, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael and a sister, Mary Josephine Cox.
Jim served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1976. After his retirement, he worked for Bee Boat, Erhard Neely, Specchio Motors, Shelby Motors and Rantoul Products. He then co-managed the Paxton Laundromat. He and his family lived in Rantoul before moving to Paxton in October 1973.
He was a member of the Paxton/Rantoul VFW. Jim enjoyed working on cars and loved keeping busy.
