James Thomas "Jack" Walker, 93, of Lincoln, Illinois, passed away on Friday, April 10 ^th , 2020 at Accolade Healthcare, Paxton. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jack was born January 20, 1927, in Hartselle, Alabama to Walter B. Walker and Laura L. Breeding Walker. He grew up in the Morgan County, Alabama area. He left school after completing 6 ^th grade because he was needed at home to help on the farm. He went on to serve in the United States Army.

On September 22, 1945, he married Evelyn Mae Morrow and they shared 70 years of marriage. Together they raised three children. He moved the family to Lincoln, Illinois in 1955 to work at Caterpillar in East Peoria, Illinois. He worked there until his retirement in 1981.

Jack loved his family more than anything else in the world and would go to the ends of the earth to help them. Long after he was physically unable to help those he loved, he prayed for each family member by name, multiple times a day. A voracious storyteller, he was known to entertain many with stories of his past. Jack loved spending time with his family, spoiling his grandchildren, working on cars, coin collecting, playing cards with the family after holiday dinners, gardening, country music, westerns, and eating at Golden Corral.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn; a son, Charles Vest, a daughter Linda Kaufman; two sisters, Annette Smith and Jean Johnson; three brothers, Roosevelt Walker, Boyce Walker, and Jessie Walker, and a son-in-law, Christav Rawlings.

He is survived by one daughter, Dale Beard (Arvie) of Bayles Lake, Loda; two sisters, Jeanette Morrow of Cullman, Alabama, and Barbara Bailey of Stone Mountain, Georgia. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
