Obituary

Jani Joy Fraim, 43, of Paxton passed away at 7:06 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Heartland Healthcare, Paxton.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Paxton Federated Church, 221 W Center, Paxton with Rev. Connie Moodie officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be prior to the service Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the church.

Jani was born on June 3, 1974 in Chicago, the daughter of Ronald and Betty Elam Kevie. She married Scott Garrett in 2014 at GAH Annex Gardens, Gibson City. He survives.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Garrett of Gibson City; three sons, Matthew Blair of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Mark (Leanne) Blair of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Lucas (Madison) Blair of Clarksville, Tennessee; one grandson, Baby Luke; three sisters, Tracie Hudson of Gifford, Denise (Waylon) McMahan of Paxton, Dana Carmody of Hendersonville, Tennessee; and step-father, George Carmody, of Hendersonville, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jani was born and raised in Hendersonville, Tennessee and graduated from high school in 1992. She attended AIU College and completed her Associates Degree in 2003 in Applied Science and finished her schooling there with a Bachelor's Degree in 2005 in Business Administration. She was very active in volunteer work which included Jobs for the Handicap, fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy Association, and was a member of GAHHS Auxiliary. Jani was the President of Resident Counsel with the GAH Long Term Care (Annex) 2012. Jani was a member of the Paxton Federated Church. She enjoyed writing, reading, cooking, animals, the outdoors and writing for the Paxton Record. Some of her favorite things were butterflies, angels, and crosses. Jani wants to be known for her love of pottery, her voice and how much she enjoyed singing. She was truly an inspiration to others.
