Jason T. Grooms, 54 of Potomac, passed away at 5:39 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at his home.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, 401 Glenwood Drive, Rantoul followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Jason was born October 14, 1971, in Tachikawa, Japan the son of Jack and Linda Schulz Grooms.

He is survived by his parents, Roger and Linda Rosenbeck of Rantoul; life partner Jaime Holland; children Jackson Grooms of Urbana, Harry (Codey) Martin-Grooms of Saybrook, Leah (Jon) Carpenter of Urbana, Tyler (Lauren) Holland of Tilton; three grandchildren Hayden Martin-Grooms, Liam Glascott-Holland, Theodore Carpenter; two brothers Erik (Laura) Lilliebjerg of Mesa, Arizona and William (Penny) Nigh of Thomasboro.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Grooms.

Jason graduated from Rantoul Twp. High School in 1989 and went on to earn a degree from ITT Technical Institute, Carmel, Indiana.  He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union #149 for 30 years.

Jason enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time in the woods behind his house.  He loved hanging out with his grandsons.
