Jean Emma Cooper, 80 of Paxton, died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Paxton Full Gospel Church, 619 S. Railroad Avenue with Pastor Rob Dargan officiating. Burial will follow in Onarga Twp. Cemetery. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.
Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
Jean was born October 15, 1944, in Fairbury the daughter of Arthur and Sylvia Hamilton Donley. She married James Harding July 8, 1980. He preceded her in death February 3, 2003. She married Stephen D. Cooper April 4, 2004 in Paxton. He survives.
Along with her husband, Stephen, she is survived by a daughter, Cassandra (Josh Henderson) Harding of Paxton; two step daughters, Cindy (Ed) Warns of Catlin, Peggy (James) Gaddis of Kirbyville, TX; eight grandchildren, Briandra, Emmalee, Nevaeh, Charlie, Jeremy, Josh, Steve, Lisa; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Delheimer of Dwight, Helen (David) Simmons of Springfield, MO, Alice (Louis) Simmons of Jones, Michigan and a twin sister, Jeanette Franklin of Fairbury and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James, sister, Lois Reynolds and brother, Chuck Donley.
Jean graduated from Cullom High School. She retired from France Broom Company after 25 years. She was a member of the Paxton Full Gospel Church.
She enjoyed word search, jigsaw puzzles, cooking, camping and going on walks. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
