Jeffrey Alan Johnson, 55 of Loda, passed away at 6:31 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Rev. John Hauck officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda with military honors by the Loda American Legion Post 503.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, December 6, at the funeral home.

Jeffrey was born September 23, 1966 in Cedar Falls, Iowa the son of James Johnson and Nan Graf.  He married Twila Boman June 8, 1996 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Loda.  She survives.

Along with his wife, Twila, he is survived by a son, Colton Johnson and a daughter, Carlee Johnson both of Loda; one sister Tiffany (Kevin) Maytum; two step-brothers Troy (Aleigha) Webber, Cortney (Anne) Webber; three step-sisters Melanie Webber, Heidi (Alan Stevens) Peyton, Tracey (James) Williamson; numerous other relatives and his sidekicks, Diesel and Shadow, the family dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father, step-mother Sharon Johnson and a sister Stephanie Johnson.

Jeffrey graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1985.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force 1985-1993.  During that time, he was stationed at the Aviano Air Base in Italy and Honduras. He worked at Eagle Wings Industries, Rantoul for 19 years.

He was a very active member of the Loda American Legion Post 503 for 29 years and had served as Jr. Vice Commander and was a part of the Honor Guard.  He was always willing to help in any way including placing flags at the cemetery on Memorial Day and helping with the fish fry's and fundraisers.  Jeff was a proud American and always attended the Veteran program at the PBL High School and took great pride when his daughter was a member of the band.

Jeff was an avid NASCAR fan.  His favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.  He had also been an Eagle Scout along with his nephew, Brad Swan.
