Jewell Burklund, 90, of Paxton passed away at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Heartland Healthcare Center, Paxton.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Glen Cemetery, Paxton with Pastor Dave Parker officiating. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Jewell was born August 26, 1926 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky the daughter of James and Sallie Conkin Coulter. She married Norris Burklund on February 20, 1973. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2014.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandy Burklund of Savoy, Linda Coley of Dwight; one son, Gary (Wanda) Coley of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a step-daughter, Diane (Erv) Woller of rural Urbana, a step-son, Dave (Becky) Burklund of rural Loda; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a sister, Nell Turner of Tompkinsville, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Jewell was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, Paxton. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping and cooking.
