Joan Louise Oster, 76, of Piper City, formerly of Paxton and Buckley passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Piper City Rehab & Living Center, Piper City.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 307 W Weldon St., Roberts with Pastor Priscilla Geerdes officiating. Burial will follow in Lyman Twp Cemetery, Roberts. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joan was born April 10, 1945 in Fairbury the daughter of Herbert Otis and Laveda Mae Baker Flessner. She married Loren Oster October 28, 1978 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Roberts. He preceded her in death August 21, 2001.

She is survived by two step sons, William (Cris) Oster of Danforth, Todd (Lisa) Oster of Watseka; sister Evelyn (Alan) Laubscher of Crescent City; brother Lloyd "Bud" (Phyllis) Flessner of Roberts; step grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Loren Oster.

Joan graduated from Roberts-Thawville High School in 1963. She was a Statistical Clerk at General Telephone Bloomington, and a CNA at Prairieview Lutheran Home, Danforth and Greenbriar Nursing Home, Piper City.

Joan was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Roberts. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, word search puzzles, coloring with colored pencils and going to garage sales.
